Life change is inevitable. But
it’s a good thing when you have a reason to improve.
The key is learning how to manage
your life more effectively. If you are facing some kind of life change, use
this checklist to help you make a success of it.
This isn’t the place for an
exhaustive list, but here are the things that can get in your way:
Change is something you must
prepare to face in life. Things will not always be the same or as you want them
to be.
Some days come with challenges
and other times it could be much easier.
In this article, I want to give you reasons to accept change in life.
Now let us start at once: Here they are;
1. Your Goals And Values Don’t Match.
When you’re going through a life
change, your values tend to change. The old you may have lived in a very
different city and that might be far from your current home.
In the past, you may have worked
in a different type of job and it’s not easy to match that in the new job. You
may have different friends.
You may be facing a new stage in your career. If that’s the case, you will need to change your goals to reflect that. Change what you focus on, what you’re trying to achieve.
2. Old Habits Keep You From Getting Ahead.
Sometimes, if you want to change
the course of your life, you’ll need to do things differently. You should develop attitudes that will keep you positive.
That can feel scary. But the fact is that you can’t go back to being a carefree kid; you have to move on. Old habits need to be killed. Learn to make new ones.
3. You’re Not Taking Responsibility For Your Life.
You might be in a state of rejection. That’s OK, but you have to be honest with yourself. It’s not that your circumstances are beyond your control; it’s that you’re not taking responsibility for them.
4. You’re Blaming Others.
You’re probably in denial. You may be upset and blame others for your situation. Don’t. You have to take ownership of your life.
You should be the source of your own power.
5. You’re Focusing On The Wrong Things.
This is a big one and you’re
probably aware of it. Your focus on the wrong things is probably putting you in
a mental trap. You’re spending too much time being angry and feeling sorry for
yourself.
You’re spending too much time looking back on your past and wishing you’d done things differently. When you get trapped in thinking that way, it can be hard to get out of that frame of mind.
That’s a great list for getting
life change done. I’ve listed five things that may trip you up in a transition,
but the number one is your mindset.
If you’re in a state of denial, you’re not focused on what you want to accomplish and it can get a lot harder to change than if you are focused on what you want to achieve.
You’re not in control of your life; it’s about you and your own goals.
What will it be? Is it the one, the ten, or the twenty years? Do you want to enjoy your golden years, or do you have another goal in mind? These are questions you ask yourself.
How can I change?
You’re the architect of your life. You get to decide how
your life is going to play out. You can let fear or anxiety or bad habits or
your parents or your ex-spouse hold you back or limit you from achieving your
life goals.
You can let those things prevent you from making the life changes you need to make. Or you can make a conscious choice to stop being a victim of your circumstances and build a different life for yourself.
You don’t have to start from scratch, you can use what
you’re doing well right now. And it doesn’t have to be about “perfection” as
long as you get there.
You’re not alone. I know exactly how hard it is to
accomplish big things when you’re surrounded by people who are just getting by.
We all think that we’re supposed to be something different
and it’s so much easier to do what we know to do, so that means change.
I don’t have to convince you that a different life is better
than the one you’re in right now, it’s your choice and the only thing standing
in your way is you.
What Kind Of Life Do You Want To Have?
Do you want to wake up each day and have an extra $15,000 or
$30,000 in the bank?
Do you want to be happy? Maybe you want to make a real
difference in the world,
Is it a legacy you want to leave behind?
Or do you want to live a life that you love?
When was the last time you asked yourself what kind of life
you want to have? If you’ve been waiting to feel “enough”, it’s time to make a
change.
When I started using the phrase, “How do I get to what I
want?” it all made sense. And I knew it wasn’t a goal that was far away. And
you know what? It’s not! How do you know what you want to be?
Take this next step and I’ll show you how to figure it out for yourself.
What’s Holding You Back?
We all feel stuck and I know what that feels like, and I’ll
show you how to change that. If you don’t know where to begin, here are some
questions that might help you figure out where you need to start.
What is it that I’m not doing because I don’t want to fail?
What is my core identity? (what am I called in the world?)
What do I want?
How do I really want to live?
What is holding me back from becoming the person I want to be?
What do I love about myself?
What am I going to lose if I make this change?
What do I want for the future of my family?
What can I do about it?
How can I get there?
If you’re sitting with a blank slate, with no idea where you’re going or what you want, here are some tips for changing your life.
It’s time to make a change. Now it’s up to you.

Conclusion
Life is all about the experience. If you’ve never worked in a different city, you don’t know what that’s like.
You’ve never lived with a spouse or children. You don’t know the joy of getting up every morning and taking a walk with a dog, going to the gym, or doing yoga.
Experience is what makes your
life special. You’re alive; you’re awake. All your thoughts are fresh in your
mind.
It’s a gift from God that we’re here to
experience the things we’ve never experienced before.
“The one thing that no one has yet come up with is a way to get old gracefully. The key is to have experience and see what it’s all about. When you’ve been there, you’re done with the questions.”- Bill Cosby.
